The Centre for Comparative Welfare Studies (CCWS) examines how the development of welfare states, state formation, and social policies affect social cohesion and sustainability. The group studies both the institutional dynamics shaping welfare states and the individual experiences and consequences of welfare, such as inequality, values, norms, and trust.
